Developing film for the first time

I just got a roll of film developed. It's my first roll of film I've ever gotten developed. I've had the my camera, a Canon AE-1, for over 6 years and never developed any roll of film on it. I have about 5-6 rolls of film filled with pictures, but I didn't know how they looked, or if the camera was even working properly, until two days ago.

Here's some of the pictures from the roll (they're in Italy):

This entire journey with this camera has been one of extreme patience. I forgot which photos I took, and I didn't get the immediate gratification I would have if I used digital. The pictures are, without a doubt, the most rewarding pictures I have ever taken. And they're mine.

The pictures possess this intrinsic character that makes me long to return and be entranced by the scene. It has a nostalgia baked into it. Film just has the zhuzh that digital lacks.

Needless to say, I'm gonna keep taking my camera everywhere I go.

Time to get some more film.
